The Current State of Alia & the LPN Program
Alia Healthcare has partnered with AIAM, the American Institute of Alternative Medicine, on Practical Nursing in Columbus. AIAM's Practical Nursing program is approved by the Ohio Board of Nursing under provisional approval (program code US20103200). Alia's own Practical Nursing program has been approved by the Board since September 2020 and holds full approval (program code US20111100). Alia is not currently accepting new LPN students, so new applicants apply directly with AIAM. The program is built on Alia's curriculum and teaching philosophy, and the AIAM team is led by Sandra Osman, RN, MSN, Alia's President and principal instructor. AIAM participates in Title IV programs: students who enroll with AIAM may apply for Pell Grants and federal student loans through AIAM's financial aid office. Alia does not process financial aid.
What "provisional approval" means: the Ohio Board of Nursing lists AIAM's Practical Nursing program (US20103200) as Provisional. Provisional is the status the Board gives to a program that previously held full approval and has to meet additional state standards, including the NCLEX pass rate benchmark, to keep its approval. Alia's own program (US20111100) is listed as Full. Both programs appear on the Board's published list of approved practical nursing education programs.
This page documents the current state of the program. The application form previously hosted here has been retired. Please apply through AIAM:
